Financial Controller

Company Background

Our client is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers, supplying both commercial clients and the automotive industry, and recent supply chain challenges across the industry has meant their market share has increased sustainability due to being one of only a handful of on-shore manufacturers. Combined with an expanding presence across the US, they have realised to keep pace with their growth, they will need a strong all-round Finance lead. 

The Role

Reporting to the CFO and sitting within a Finance team of seven, this Financial Controller will take management of the financial, management reporting and compliance obligations for the business. 

More specifically this will involve: 

• Management of an AP Officer 
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosures, including reconciliations of key general ledger accounts
• Reporting to the CFO on monthly and quarterly results to budget, including key statistics
• Develop and maintain monthly board financial reports for analysis and decision-making
• Reports are to be accurate and on-time
• Interpretation of data and identifying drivers and budget trends and variances to help department heads make decisions
• Assisting with preparation of Annual Budgets and 3-5 year budgets
• Preparing annual comprehensive working papers and liaising with external tax accountants for tax preparation
• Where necessary, providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support
• Managing the preparation and lodgement of activity statements and following up on payment
• Preparing fringe benefits tax returns
• Reviewing company reporting processes and controls and identifying areas for improvement
• Collaborating with CEO, CFO, Senior Management, and Cost Accountant to implement new processes and controls
• Work with the Senior Management and Cost Accountant to ensure ERP month-end processes are satisfactorily performed

Your Background

To be considered for this Financial Controller role, our client is very keen to speak to candidates with 

• All round Financial and Management accounting experience, coupled with tax compliance
• Degree qualified with CA / CPA (ideally) 
• Experience within the manufacturing or distribution industry would be great
