Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field AND 6+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • +2-3 year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • +2-3 year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • +2-3 year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountants (CA) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

People: As functional lead of area management P&L, the FC is accountable for orchestrating the Financial Controller team and rhythms. The FC is also an experienced professional within the Area Finance community and is expected to contribute to the thought leadership of the community.   

  • In charge of the Area management P&L and lead FC communities of best practice in the Area.  
  • Key point of contact for Regional community leads and responsible for landing finance initiatives in the area. 

Partnership: Trusted advisor of the area leadership team and liaison to ASIA regional finance. The FC builds partnerships across the Area to deliver insights on P&L results, accurately forecast future results and inform decision-makers on a timely basis to optimize spend.  

  • Collaborate with HR (Human Resources), SE&O (Sales Excellence and Operations), Regional Headquarters team, One Finance (centralized Finance Shared Services team), One Payroll (centralized Payroll team) and the business. Responsible for ensuring that all parties deliver maximum value to the business and are continually improving operational effectiveness. 
  • Oversees the budgeting, forecasting, actual, variance and trend analysis for all costs, ensuring insightful commentary provided to area leadership team and offering solutions in P&L optimization.  

Prioritization: The FC has primary responsibility for overseeing overall Quarterly Financial Accountability (QFA), people costs and headcount. Additionally, this role is responsible for orchestrating key P&L rhythms (Budget, Forecast, Closing, reviews), owning and driving and efficient end-to-end process for the ANZ Area while continuing to drive for standardization and simplification.  

  • Process: Responsible for Area P&L planning and orchestration of key financial processes (e.g. Budget, Forecast, Closing, quarterly business review), owning and driving and efficient end-to-end process. 
  • QFA: Drive and manage Field Operating Model (FOM) and inform decision-makers on timely basis to optimize spending.  
  • CPH, Headcount and People costs: Monitor, analyze trends, identify variance to Budget/forecast, one-off items and causes of unexpected variances.  
  • Headcount ramp: Supervise/accountable for planning of HC and HC ramp for the Area. 
  • Payroll costs: Ensure accuracy of Payroll costs, by performing a detailed review of variances and coordinating with local Stat & Tax controllers and centralized Shared Services Finance teams as appropriate. 
  • SOX & accounting: Supervise SOX & MAP (Microsoft Accounting Policy) compliance and sign-off for Area Management P&L. 

Protect:   Ensuring proactive risk management through internal controls and compliance. 

  • Collaborate with the Controls & Compliance lead to embed compliance into the finance and business processes within the area. 
  •  Oversees the systems and processes that deliver outcomes to meet regulatory requirements (including SOX) as well as advises on revisions to these systems and processes to adapt to changing legislative environments.
