YOUR NEW ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and driven Financial Controller with a passion for accuracy, compliance and strategic financial management. As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial excellence, compliance and transparency as well as collaborate closely with the UrbanX executive team and lead critical financial processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing and managing the finance team completing all payroll services for the company
- Training, developing and managing the Head Office Finance Team (onshore and offshore team members) including regular feedback check-ins and performance reviews
- Reviewing and finalising monthly financial board reports, circulating to Board members ahead of board meetings, responding to any queries.
- Reviewing and finalising monthly ATO compliance obligations (IAS/BAS)
- Reviewing and finalising annual reporting and compliance obligations
- Reviewing and presenting 6-monthly budgets for executive approval
- Reviewing budgets as entered into XERO and CALXA to ensure accurate and matching re-forecast figures each 6 months.
- Reviewing and finalising annual Research & Development claims, liaising with external accountants to include with annual accounts and tax returns.
- Additional adhoc and not-for-profit obligations discussed upon interview
REQUIREMENTS:
- CA or CPA qualified with minimum of 3-years experience in a commercial role or similar professional experience
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, compliance, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills & ability to collaborate across teams.
- Detail-orientated, analytical mindset and a problem solver.
- Continuous improvement mindset with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while at the same time embracing teamwork, also in a virtual context.
- Experience with XERO and CALXA programmes preferred but not essential.
