Otraco (a subsidiary of BMSA ) is a world leading provider of Earthmover and Off-road tyre management services to the mining industry.
We are currently seeking an experiencedand strategic Financial Controller to work across both businesses out of ournew state of the art BMSA Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park NSW.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this newly created role will guide four direct reports across a finance cohort of approximately fifteen. Your teams will cover Financial Planning/Analysis, Financial Accounting, Payroll and Procurement.

The Opportunity
- Permanent full-time role
- Lead the finance department to achieve excellence in Financial Planning/Analysis, Financial Accounting, Payroll and Procurement
- Support the Executive teams of BMSA & Otraco through the preparation, presentation and influencing of valuable insights
- Drive smarter and ‘data informed’ decision making at a strategic and operational level
- Lead the Budget & Forecasting preparation, review, consolidation and finalisation process to ensure the optimum performance of each business unit
About You - Essential
- Experience in maintaining the highest Corporate Governance and International standards as they relate to all Statutory, Financial, Legal and Payroll activities
- Proven excellence in guiding your functions to question and challenge the status quo in order to develop a ‘continuous improvement’ mind-set
- Demonstrated history of ensuring the Accounting and Information Technology systems remain at the forefront of industry best practice
- Past success in providing commercial support with contract reviews and tender preparations
- An effective collaborator/influencer with internal and external stakeholders
- Team management experience and proven results in staff empowerment
- Acceptance of occasional interstate travel
- Current work rights in Australia
About You – Preferred
- Appropriate advanced tertiary qualifications
- Past success in discharging Company Secretarial duties with unswerving probity
- Exposure to mining, heavy industry or related industries
