Main responsibilities of this role include:
- Preparation of financial statements and managing external audit processes.
- Accurate tax planning and compliance.
- Providing support to the CFTO regarding Board papers, governance (FAR, internal controls etc.)
- Providing support to the Treasury Analyst regarding project finance modelling.
- Supporting the CFTO in the development of technical advice memos.
- Month end and year end accounting close management
- Ensuring financial compliance – contracts, risk and internal controls.
- Reviewing reconciliations and accounting workpapers and journals.
- Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Accountable for FloQast management and process standardization.
- Ensure half-year and annual statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Coordinating and implementing finance system upgrades as required.
- Facilitating and coordinating internal audits.
- Oversee the preparation of income tax calculations and tax accounting journals.
- Degree in Finance or related discipline – with CPA/CA accreditation.
- Minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience with 5 years’ management experience.
- Strong Financial Modelling skills and understanding of tax consolidated groups.
- Strong industry experience in property development, asset holding / investment coordination, managing contractors / concession holders.
- High advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience with financial close software (e.g. Blackline, Trintech)
- Experience with complex legal entity structures.
- Excellent understanding of Australian tax and accounting standards.
- Experience in ERP implementation (Microsoft Business or Netsuite)
- Strong process improvement, finance transformation experience.
- Competent in external audit / statutory account preparation.
