Your Role:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of financial management to ensure the financial health and stability of our organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee payroll processing and compliance, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, optimizing cash flow and credit management.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Manage BAS filings and payments to the ATO to ensure timely compliance and accuracy.
- Facilitate R&D tax incentive submissions, supporting innovation within the company.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and present findings to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling to assess potential risks and opportunities.
- Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Optimize cash utilization and investment strategies.
- Monitor banking activities and reconcile accounts.
- Process Improvements:
- Identify and address process improvements to streamline operations.
- Implement strategies to optimize workflow and eliminate redundancies, leveraging technology where applicable.
What You’ll Bring:
We’re looking for someone who is not only technically adept but also passionate about delivering exceptional results.
You should possess the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Preference for candidates with experience in a high growth environment (startup/scale-up) and within a similar industry.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
