The Opportunity

We're seeking a dedicated Full-Time Finisher Manager to oversee our finisher units, managing staff, and ensuring optimal pig care and production at our farm in Thyra, NSW. The role involves coordinating with various teams to achieve targets, supervise staff development, and drive continuous improvement in key performance indicators.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, some key responsibilities will include:

• Provide clear directives and tasks to all employees
• Ensure compliance with all veterinary directions and keep all employees informed of changes related to the treatment and health management of animals
• Maintain a high level of production, safety, and welfare on the site
• Conduct regular daily and more detailed weekly site checks
• Organise the administration tasks for the following week and ensure minor maintenance requirements are addressed by farm employees.
• Keep all administration work and reports up to date
• Carry out all vaccinations, treatments (including water treatments), and euthanasia as required or directed
• Demonstrate a commitment to promoting, developing, and improving the health, safety, environment, and welfare of both people and animals
• Promote and enforce safe work practices by developing and overseeing the adoption of such practices within the workforce to protect the health and welfare of all employees

Who We Are Looking For

SunPork has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products.

As a key member of this team, the successful applicant must have:

• Management experience (desirable)
• Drivers licence (essential)
• Forklift and tractor licence would be an advantage
• 2+ years experience working on a farm (essential)
• Be committed to upholding the highest levels of animal welfare and bio-security;
• Certificate III in Pig Production or above or currently studying towards (essential)
• Be committed to training and professional development
• Have a positive attitude towards the intrinsic values of trust, integrity, quality, efficiency and innovation
• Availability to work rostered weekends and public holidays
• Be physically fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the role
• Excellent written and verbal communication including intermediate computer skills
