St John Ambulance Australia (NT) Inc. (St John NT) is the Territory’s leading provider in emergency medical response and preparedness. We have a mission to save lives and build community resilience to improve the safety and healthcare for all Territorians. We do this by providing a range of services from ambulance services under contract to the Northern Territory Government, coordination of emergency medical responses, event health services and First Aid assistance at community and major events through to nationally accredited First Aid training, community education and First Aid products and equipment.
We are seeking enthusiastic & career focused individuals to join our First Aid Trainer Traineeship Program. You will be working within our First Aid Training Team and at the end of the Traineeship Program you will be a fully qualified First Aid Trainer.
About the Traineeship Program:
- Full-time 12-month program
- Certificate II in Medical Service First Response & Certificate IV in Training and Assessment included
- Open-age program, people with previous work experience wanting to further or even change careers encouraged to apply
- Comprehensive program designed to cover all responsibilities of a First Aid Trainer and to understand all aspects of St John NT

About you:-
We are seeking applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and encourage everybody interested with a Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) or similar completion of High School Certificate to apply.
You will be:
- An excellent communicator, you’re able to engage readily with others and are ready to ask questions whenever you need clarification;
- Highly motivated with enthusiasm to learn the business and our stakeholders, you’ll also be a good team player who has a growth mindset;
- Well organised, very responsible and reliable; and able to take directions well;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and have good all-round computer and admin skills.
Employment with St John NT is subject to a Criminal History Check, Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and must be compliant with the St John NT Immunisation Policy.
