With a commitment to sustainable practices and a passion for the sea, we're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced First Mate to join our fishing vessel.
Position: First Mate
Location: Northern Territory Fin Fish Trawl Fishery
Job Type: Full-time, rotating roster (8 weeks on, 8 weeks off) or as required
Start Date: Early August
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of fishing gear, nets, and other equipment.
- Participate in the sorting, cleaning, and preservation of catches.
- Contribute to the safe navigation and operation of the vessel under the direction of the Skipper.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Perform general vessel maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements:
- experience as a First Mate on a ish trawler
- Proficiency in basic seamanship skills and knowledge of fishing techniques and net mending.
- Master 5
- First Aid
