The Fish De-Scaler will play a crucial role in our clients processing operations, ensuring that fish are prepared to the highest standards of quality and hygiene. This position requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate fish de-scaling equipment to efficiently remove scales from a variety of fish species.
- Inspect fish for any defects or impurities before and during the de-scaling process, ensuring only the highest quality products are processed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment, always adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with other processing tasks as needed, including gutting, filleting, and packaging fish products.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production targets are met while upholding quality standards.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the seafood industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy containers of fish.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise handling of fish and equipment.
- Commitment to following food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure product integrity.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
