Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Executive
We operate and maintain an extensive fleet of transport vehicles, material handling equipment, cold stores, refrigerated trailers, offices and depots in Western Australia.
We require an experienced executive to lead the asset management function for the business with the support of workshop, refrigeration and Facilities Maintenance personnel. Reporting to the CEO and the Board, this role is accountable for this area of the business including budgeting, cost controls, analytical analysis and reporting, data-based decision making, people management, and day to day leadership of a team in excess of 40 persons.
Our business is complex and integrated, needing a high level of predictable availability of all assets and Facilities that remain compliant to statutory regulations and safety standards within OEM recommended servicing parameters.

This Role
To lead our statewide asset management functionality with accountability for the smooth and efficient execution of the asset management lifecycle across our entire range of asset classes. This includes:
- Effective people management and development of our maintenance and repair teams.
- Coordinating the acquisition, operational readiness, maintenance, renewal and disposal of all our infrastructure, fixed and mobile assets.
- Development and implementation of an overall maintenance strategy, preventative and programmed maintenance of Sands Group assets, trucks, refrigeration plants, trailers and material handling equipment and Facilities.
- Managing and developing our workshop, facilities and refrigeration maintenance team leaders.
- As a senior member of the management team undertaking, budgeting, cost controls, reporting to the Executive team and Board, performance analysis and improvement and outcome management.
- Coordination and project management of any capital works or renewals.
- Leading the safety, compliance and quality assurance in respect of all assets.
- Coordinating the safety and quality assurance training of all the maintenance and repair teams.
- Liaison with operations, customer service, regional and transport divisions concerning asset availability and function.
The Person
- a minimum 10 year's proven and demonstratable people management, leadership and team development experience.
- High level of business acumen and commercial understanding relevant to asset, management, repair, maintenance and large workshop operations.
- demonstrated leadership in asset management roles in a heavy automotive/diesel or Transport industry for at least 10 years.
- well-developed analytical, reporting, cost management and planning skills with high attention to detail.
- High level of computer literacy using EAMS or similar asset , maintenance and or fleet management systems / software packages.
- Well-developed communication, prioritization and time management skills.
- High level of business acumen and commercial understanding relevant to asset, management, repair, maintenance and large workshop operations.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered for this position dependent upon the skills, experience and demonstrated achievements of the successful candidate.
