BenefitsSalary RangeDepending on the skills and experience, the salary range for this position is between $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation per annum.

Task & ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:- Plans and manages the production of flowering and foliage plants from soil preparation to harvest taking into account environmental factors
- Conducts soil analyses, site assessments, prepares and maintains growing media and sites
- Selects suitable plants for growing, harvests crops, grades and stores picked flowers, bunches and packages flowers for market
- Controls temperature, light and humidity in greenhouses to maintain optimal growing conditions
- Maintains flowers by weeding, identifying and treating pests and diseases, de-budding, fertilising and watering plants
- Maintains farm and nursery buildings, fences, equipment and water supply systems
- Maintains and evaluates records of farming activities, and plans flowers preparation and production to meet contract requirements and market demand
- Plans, organises, controls, coordinates and performs planting, cultivating and harvesting activities to grow flowering and foliage plants
- Inspecting flower to identify product quality issues, and providing advice to producers
- Auditing and monitoring quality procedures at farms and processing facilities to ensure compliance with required standards
- Upgrade with current technologies for excellent yield of produce this includes but not limited to:
Planning and monitoring efficiency trials on new chemical products. Developing new strategies to increase production by minimising production cost. Selection of healthy plants for seed collection and Propagation. Monitoring cultivation and pruning activities.
- Training and assigning duties to workers according to scheduled activities including planting, fertilising, spraying, pruning, mulching and harvesting.
- Weekly management meeting with Company Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Have at least a relevant AQF level Diploma in Horticulture related field
- Minimum 3 years work experience is essential
- Experience within a flower farm and experience in Nursery is advantageous.

- Must be willing to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays

Wimmera Wildflowers Pty Ltd is a family owned business established in 1989.
The farm is located on the northern side of the Grampians Mountain Range in Laharum, Victoria.
Our flowers and foliage are often found in bouquets at supermarkets, florists and in arrangements for special events Australia wide.
Our flowers and foliage are transported to the Melbourne Flower Market throughout the week. They are also transported straight from the farm to customers interstate such as: Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane.
We supply to Wholesale customers anywhere in Australia.
