Flute Tutor and Ensemble Director

This position is suitable for a qualified, experienced, and collaborative professional Flute Tutor and flute Ensemble Director. All Hallows’ School has a long and proud tradition of excellence in co-curricular dance, music and speech and drama activities.

The Performing Arts program currently offers optional tuition on all orchestral instruments, voice, piano, guitar and music theory. All Year 5 students receive compulsory tuition on an orchestral instrument as part of a year-long scheduled weekly Music curriculum experience. The year 5 involves approximately 2.6 hours of flute teaching.

The Performing Arts Tutor - Flute and Ensemble Director is a casual contract position. The number of employment hours is determined by student enrolment in the program and may vary from term to term, however, the position involves 2 hours per week of Flute Ensemble rehearsals and approximately 3.5 hours per week of private lesson tutoring dependent on enrolments. There is potential to increase hours if there is a growth in enrolments. 

The successful applicant will be teaching flute in the year 5 instrumental program so needs to be available all day Thursday plus at least one other day. The successful applicant will bring excellent pedagogical and curriculum development skills, innovation, a strong, contemporary vision for teaching and enthusiasm for working collaboratively in the education of young women.

This position commences on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
