The Cleaning Supervisor will ensure the cleaning department maintains a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within all Food and Beverage areas. You will have primary responsibility for the procedures and policies of the Cleaning department and will ensure operational systems are in place for the services being conducted by the cleaning staff.
To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated ability to lead a small and hard working team, have great communication and work collaboratively with the Food and Beverage Management team. You must be a quick thinker, and be willing to jump in and help out the team wherever needed.
Duties may include –
- Supervise and direct cleaning staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the cleaning team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.:
- Plan and coordinate cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are cleaned thoroughly and on time.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and place orders as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development among team members.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with standards.
- Ensure that cleaning staff adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential requirements –
- Hold current Driver’s Licence (manual).
- Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with guests throughout the Zoo grounds.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD).
- Experience in a similar role and long term commitment to Australia Zoo.
- Ability to lead a team.
Preferred Criteria –
- First Aid Qualification.
- Diploma of Hospitality.
