The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney is the embodiment of chic style and sophistication. The hotel is located in The Rocks, close to Circular Quay. Our building is the home to many residents who we provide building services to, and commercial areas.
Job Description
Reporting to the Restaurant & Bar Manager, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring and motivating your team, ensuring they deliver professional, efficient and friendly service. You will be assist the Restaurant & Bar Manager with the day-to-day operations in the restaurant (Quartier Bistro & Bar), In-Room Dining and Conferencing/Events. Furthermore, you will also be responsible for ensuring that strategies are in place to allow for efficient and effective staffing, while also maintaining financial and service quality and targets. Your duties will include:
  • Providing for guests and patrons an experience and environment they feel meets their expectations.
  • Liaising with customers and Chef/kitchen brigade to ensure service times are adhered to.
  • Set up systems to protect and maintain control of restaurant and conference service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.
  • Set up and maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant and conference centre to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.
  • Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
Qualifications
  • A true ‘people person’ who is able to create connections with our guests and residents quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, effective time management and proven experience leading a successful team.
  • You will have passion, and well-rounded knowledge of the latest food and wine trends.
  • Your Food Safety Supervisor Course.
  • Hold a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
  • The flexibility and reliability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Lead by example and be motivated to take ownership of this role, and progress within our company.
