About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Officer to join the Spudshed team!
The Food Safety Officers primary focus within the business is to maintain high Food Safety standards across our Spudshed stores. To achieve this, they will actively complete internal HACCP Audits in stores to ensure food receival, storage, handling, production and monitoring processes are compliant.
Through close engagement with the store teams they will ensure team members are competent in these processes.
Responsibilities:
Food Safety Officer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- HACCP auditing – perform routine audits across all stores
- Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions as well as supporting stores with the right tools to close out these corrective actions.
- Evaluate external audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions through store teams
- Provide training and support that covers systems, policies, procedures and core processes
- Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers to maintain accreditations.
- Food Handling and Preparation
- Regularly review team member training records including Food Safety Supervisor certifications and I’m Alert
- Administrative Duties
- Reporting in relation to HACCP and food handling as required
- Investigate reports of quality issues and ensure resolution is in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Raise recalls and withdrawals as required
- Develop and maintain procedures for capture, investigation and documentation of complaints
- Develop and maintain training materials and operations manuals as required
- Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
- Collate and monitor certifications of suppliers, working closely with category managers to update as new suppliers onboard or existing certifications expire
- Collate and manage certifications/verifications of equipment
- Analyse data to identify areas for improvement in the HACCP system
- Maintain close working relationship with local health departments/shires
- Customer Resolution and Collation
- Serve as a primary point of contact between customers and the company, offering clear and courteous communication via various channels, including phone and email.
- Generate reports and performance metrics related to customer service activities to evaluate and improve service and quality.
- Identify and escalate complex or unresolved issues to higher levels of management or specialized teams when necessary.
