About the role: Our client, a multinational food company, is seeking an experienced Food Safety Quality Assurance Coordinator to join their team, for an 8 month fixed term contract, based in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane.
Duties:Duties may include, but are not limited to; - Through day-to-day tasks and coordination activities, you will provide assurance that site Food Safety, quality, animal welfare and biosecurity outcomes are continuously met with respect to legislation, customer standards and internal quality systems.
- Promote, lead and influence, alongside the rest of the technical team, a strong Food Safety culture onsite, with full implementation of all corporate expectation.
- Assess and communicate, and where necessary escalate risks in Food Safety, quality and export.
- Continued minimisation and mitigation of risk, through appropriate risk-based decision making and analysis.
- Ensure a working knowledge, implementation and management of the Quality Management System on a day-to-day basis.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of the Quality Management System through identification, collaboration and implementation.
- Assist as required, with onsite visits with major customers.
- Be an auditee as required by the quality manager, for site audits
Skills/experience:
To be considered for this position, you will require:
- Tertiary qualification in food science or relevant industry experience/qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP, and Quality/Risk Management and Export Programmes.
- Ability to develop quality procedures, programmes and product specifications.
- Ability to analyse and present data in a professional manner.
- Experience in teaching concepts to others.
- Ability to get people onside and influence.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Well organized and able to work to agreed timelines with minimal supervision.
- Strong numeracy and literacy and oral skills
