The role

The Arkaba Hotel is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager to join our team on a full time basis. This position reports works closely with the Functions Manager and Duty Management team to manage the entirety of our Food Service business.  This includes recruiting, training and supervising Food Service staff. Setting, serving and packing down all functions rooms, writing rosters and meeting wage targets, providing friendly and personable service to our restaurant and function guests.

The Food Service Manager is a key leadership position at the Arkaba Hotel and attends weekly Hotel Management meetings to assist with planning and preparation for day to day, week to week and significant calendar events.

Nights and weekends are an essential part of the role.

Regular duties include:

• Managing the day to day operations of the Food Service department
• Supervising a 90 seat full table service restaurant
• Liaising with customers to make and manage restaurant bookings
• Setting up, executing and packing down 6 different functions with capacity from 6 to 600 guests including social, corporate, conferencing, engagements, weddings and degustation dinners
• Drafting rosters and managing labour in line with wage targets
• Stock control of consumables such as linen and tea towels
• Assisting with recruitment and training
