Food Services Assistants - Evening Shifts
Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, you’re a valued member of a larger Monash Health Support Services located at the brand Victorian Heart Hospital team. As an experienced Food Services Assistant, you’ll be responsible for the preparation, regeneration, plating, delivery and collection of meals throughout the day. Other key duties include and not limited:
- Assist in the preparation of meals
- Accurately assembling tray supplies and food on tray line
- Clean Kitchen and equipment
- Deliver, distribute and collect all meal requirements
- Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
- Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner
Enjoy Work life Balance with New Evening Shifts:
Position 1: PM Monday & Thursday 1400-2030 - Permanent Part Time (24 Hours per fortnight)
Position 2: PM Wednesday 1400-2030, Thursday 1430-2100, Friday 1430-2100, Sunday 1430-2100 (42 hours per fortnight)
About You
As a talented Food Services Assistant, you take personal pride in providing excellent customer service and committed to meeting service delivery requirements in accordance with the Food Safety Program.
To ensure your success in this role, you will have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Previous experience preferably within healthcare
- Experience in the delivery of Food Services including an ability to negotiate positive outcomes for patients
- Clear understanding food safety guidelines
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) combined with outstanding customer service skills
- Current Food Handlers Certificate – Level 1 (Essential)
- Qualification relevant to Health HLTFSE 001 – Follow basic food safety practice
- Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances.
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Sound computer skills and ability to learn/apply computer-based menu management system
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills, able to provide a friendly approach to all patients and visitors at Monash Health
