Foyer Oxford provides young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness with fully self-contained transitional housing for up to two years, combined with personalised 24/7 support and opportunities to access education, training and employment.
The Foyer Oxford Coordinator will work collaboratively with other Foyer Oxford staff to develop, review and implement the Foyer Oxford service model. You will also review and evaluate program goals, policies and procedures, and participate in the preparation of new and current program funding submissions. You will participate in the recruitment of staff, and take responsibility for the induction and ongoing supervision of team members.
As a member of the wider Foyer team you will seek to engage young people in the Foyer community and will actively create opportunities for engagement through arts, crafts, sports, performing arts and other special interests or hobbies.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) parental leave cover opportunity until 20 June 2025 based in Leederville. The successful candidate will be able to work flexible hours as required.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Human Services.
- Significant industry experience with specialist knowledge working with young people.
- Staff supervision (line & practice) experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organisational skills in planning, problem solving.
- People management skills including motivating staff, providing feedback, delegating responsibility and facilitating team work.
- Ability to be innovative and flexible, work independently, demonstrate initiative and work effectively under pressure.
- A thorough understanding of the barriers and difficulties facing ‘at risk’ young people and the community resources available to them.
- Ability to lead effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary, teamwork setting.
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a current WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
