Reporting to the Senior Manager, Fraud Risk - the role holder will be a 2LOD SME for Fraud Risk responsible for reviewing LOB initiatives, risk assessment, ensuring appropriate oversight of fraud-related risks and controls, conducting fraud trend and thematic analysis of incidents, and ensuring business stakeholders understand potential risks by providing subject matter expert recommendations and guidance. The role will be across all Lines of Business (LOBs) at a country level (Australia); acting as a key member of the FC team for HSBC Bank Australia Ltd (HBAU) and Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HBAP) Sydney Branch (SYH) (collectively AUH) in relation to Fraud risks.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing the fraud implication of new/amended products and processes and recommending appropriate action.
- Provide timely and appropriate fraud prevention and detection advice and guidance to the business
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Provide thematic guidance and oversight into the configuration, rating and ongoing management of Fraud RCA library/design.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in a compliance or fraud-related role, preferably within financial services .
- At least two years banking experience.
- The ability to juggle projects and conflicting deadlines.
- An interest in fraud and financial crime, with a sound knowledge of current fraud and scam typologies and desire to protect HSBC and its customers from Fraud
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of coordinating, facilitating and de-conflicting.
