The Novotel Northbeach, Wollongong has undergone a major refurbishment and is a stunning beachfront resort with multiple outlets and entertainment facilities under the one roof. The hotel provides an exceptional product with world class food and beverage offerings and is highlighted to be the best resort and food venue in the region. The hotel boasts 209 accommodation rooms, 13 conference rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, sports bar facilities, gaming room, pool and gym and is renowned for its guest obsessed culture.
About you:
Your ability to surprise and delight our guests with your bright and natural style of customer service is what sets you apart from the rest. You are a confident people person who is able to approach guests and initiate conversation along with a strong knowledge of the hotel and its surrounding area. You are able to manage a team and keep motivation levels high to ensure our guests have the best possible experience during their stay.
Key Responsibilities include: 
  • Coordination and management of the day to day operations of the hotel whilst leading and inspiring the team to enhance the guest experience.
  • Managing a team of Guest Service Officers and Team Leaders.
  • Be proactive and resourceful when attending to guest requests (both in person and in written correspondence).
  • Taking initiative to ensure interactions with our customers are positive and productive, and there is prompt action for all guest feedback. 
  • Assisting to lead, train, motivate and develop the team for success, cultivating a strong culture.
  • Assisting in all areas of the hotel during peak times to eliminate potential issues.
  • Responsibility for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.
  • Available to work varied shifts from early mornings to late evenings, including weekends and Public Holidays.

Skills & Experience: 
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant managerial role within the hospitality industry
  • High level communication skills and the ability to engage with all stakeholders
  • Driven to exceed customer expectations
  • Experience with Opera and reservations systems desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of WHS legislation and hazard identification
  • First Aid Certificate desirable
  • Analytical thinking to problem solve quickly and effectively
