About the Role

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, we seek a friendly professional with a warm and engaging smile to welcome our guests into our dynamic Stamford Grand Hotel, as the first impression maker we further seek a leader with a service driven passion for hospitality. From our 220 luxury rooms to our bustling Grand Bar to our delightful Promenade Restaurant, exciting functions, our venue offers a diverse experience for both our team members and our guests. We seek Hotel Duty Manager applications for a full-time position, with the flexibility to work shifts over a 7-day roster.

Core Functions of your role

The role coordinates and oversees the running of the Hotel in the absence of senior management, assisting with the operations of Front Office, monitoring hotel security and maximising the profitability of venue areas.

  • Train, coach and mentor staff to comply with the Hotels standards, policies and procedures
  • Coordinate group arrivals and ensure preparations are made for VIPs and return guests
  • Provide clear concise communication to all departments within the Hotel
  • Effectively assist to resolve guests concerns, issues and incidents
  • Lead by example and provide exceptional customer service during every encounter
  • Drive incentive programs to maximise revenue
  • Assist in the hotel's food and beverage outlets where required
  • Assist with concierge duties by relocating guest
  • Manage emergency situations and give first response to medical situations
  • Undertake regular security inspections of the hotel premises
  • Actively drive in depth handover meetings, where issues are handed over to the next shift to ensure continuity of service and a resolve
  • Manage staff rosters, tardiness, absences, leave accruals and professionally manage team underperformance

About you

  • A qualification in Hospitality Management (desirable)
  • Current RSA, First Aid Certification and a current driver's license
  • Experience as a Fire Warden and First Aid Officer (desirable)
  • Experience as a Duty Manager in a 5-star environment (highly desirable)
  • Experience with hotel booking systems - preferably Opera (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • The ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees to deliver a high standard of service
  • Commitment with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Have legal requirements to live and work unrestricted in Australia
