Gregory Hills Hotel is Macarthur’s favourite local! Serving great pub grub and your favourite beverages to enjoy, this venue has something for everyone with multiple dining spaces and bars, a huge kids area, function spaces and sports bar.
You will be joining a loyal team of local and passionate staff who aim to continually deliver the best quality food and service in the area.
We have a Full time Cook position available.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Examining food items to ensure quality
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing and cooking food
- Seasoning food during cooking
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- Assisting the Head Chef if required to plan menus and estimate food requirements
- Assist where required to train other kitchen staff and apprentices
What we are looking for in our candidates:
- Relevant Qualifications - Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience with coaching and mentoring junior staff
- Have the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for excellent quality food, produce and service
- Be reliable, punctual and hard workings
- Have strong communication skills
- Be able to maintain kitchen procedures and WHS standards
- Have sound knowledge of food, health & safety
- Available to work a mix of weekends & nights
- Have Australian working rights
- Able to work Full time - 38hrs/week
Salary $70,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
