About the role:

The Dedicated Full System Switcher role is situated within Evoenergy’s Vegetation and Inspection section of the Network Services Branch. This position is responsible for managing switching operations across all levels of Evoenergy’s Electricity Network. Under the guidance of the Network Operations and Call Centre Branch, the switcher ensures safe access to the electricity network for both Evoenergy workers and external customers.

 Key responsibilities:

• Delivery and Quality:
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of work to high quality standards while minimizing customer impact.
• Manage site safety, resources, scope, and daily work delivery by enforcing required procedures.
• Oversee material, plant, and equipment utilization within budget.
• Execution and Monitoring:
• Accurately execute scoping tasks.
• Monitor own performance, escalate issues to the Site Lead Vegetation Switching, and submit status updates promptly.
• Maintain consistency with Cityworks workflow processes.
• Communication and Problem Solving:
• Liaise with contractors.
• Conduct routine negotiations with customers and handle minor conflicts.
• Interpret technical information to solve problems.
• Team Support and Collaboration:
• Provide coaching and mentoring to team members for technical and performance matters.
• Collaborate with other team members, Site Leads, and Program Delivery Leads.
• Work closely with Standards and Work Practices Sections to ensure compliance and quality.
• Collaboration with External Parties:
• Actively collaborate with external contractors to arrange outages.

About you:

Essential

• OH&S General Induction Card
• Certificate III in Electro-technology or Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Distribution Overhead, Craft Certificate or equivalent.
• Hold current or in process of obtaining switching authorisation for HV, LV overhead and underground network, zone substations and transmission network.
• Demonstrated understanding of the operation and maintenance of electricity network infrastructure and field operations and high-level knowledge of construction standards.
• Demonstrated high level technical expertise.
• EWP High Risk Licence. 
• ACT Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
• Experience in construction works as a Lineworker, Fitter or Jointer.

Desirable

• Demonstrates initiative, acts with confidence and generates appropriate activity.

·        Manages conflict effectively and uses appropriate humour to enhance relationships.

• Demonstrates resilience in a high-pressure environment.

·        Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
