LS precast provides precast elements for the construction of some of Victoria’s biggest projects, aligning with core values of local, regional and building for our future here in the North East of Victoria. Situated in Benalla, the facility is part of regional growth for infrastructure and employment. The concrete elements are some of largest produced. Convenient located close to the Hume Freeway, LS Precast ensures efficient transport of all project elements.

We are seeking a Project Engineer for full-time employment based out of Benalla VIC. You need to have the right attitude and skills with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in the construction industry essential. Salary of $145,000 – 155,000 + super for this full-time position for the right person.

The purpose of this role is to hold the responsibility for technical matters associated with the refurbishment & manufacturing requirements of the assigned Project works including design, planning, procurement, commissioning & manufacturing of Precast Concrete Elements.

You will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks, which includes but is not limited to:

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate on-site engineering activities to achieve company time and budget objectives.
• Responsible to develop and implement procedures to achieve quality, safety, timely production and compliance with budgets.
• Reporting production costs daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Procurement of plant, equipment, and material to support site needs.
• Coordinate and administer engineering activities to meet program & timelines
• Write, review and present methods to meet relevant stakeholder expectations.
• Develop construction methods and engineering concepts to safely and cost effectively deliver packages of work.
• Assist with the preparation of site budgets and reports.
• Monitor progress of production performance for adherence to programme & standards.
• Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions.
• Execute working knowledge of contractual Project Scope & Requirements (PSR)
• Use approved documents and record management systems for company performance reporting.
• Arrange and oversee the letting of tenders and draft scopes of work for inclusion in subcontract.
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Safety Absolutes and the Life Saving Rules and Safety Management System adopted across the site.
• Develop and maintain an awareness of HSEQ hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.
• Understand and effectively undertake HSEQ accountabilities.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent

 Experience Requirement:

• 3+ years engineering experience.
• Project Engineer and operational experience, design experience
• Experience on > $500 M Projects
• Ability to undergo the above tasks competently.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

• Project wide level of planning, development, and review of complex projects
• Delivery of minor projects to program and budget specifications
• Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6; AutoCAD
• Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards, and implications for project accountabilities
• Understanding of Project Design, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans
• Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements.
