Due to continued growth, our client is looking to expand the establish finance team with the addition if a Fund Accountant to assist in that growth.
The role
- Establishing a comprehensive timetable for monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.
- Recording monthly trust journals to account for debt, intercompany transfers, distributions, prepayments, and accrual adjustments. Determining appropriate accounting and tax treatments, such as asset capitalization, as needed.
- Investigating, analyzing, and consolidating data from property managers to gain insights into the performance of each Trust.
- Computing and preparing monthly property management fees for each Trust.
- Initiating and supporting the procurement of trust expenses.
- Continuously enhancing financial reporting frameworks and models.
- Managing fixed asset registers for each Trust.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for each Trust to support critical balances.
- Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion of month-end processes and reporting across each Trust.
- Generating monthly management accounts and reports for each Trust.
- Delivering presentations on monthly results at fund meetings.
- Preparing Business Activity Statements, bank reconciliations, managing general ledgers, and overseeing fixed asset registers for each Trust.
- Coordinating with the asset management team on new leasing, information collection, and accurate calculation of incentives in line with accounting standards.
- Assisting the Funds Management team in providing analysis of various future leasing options and analyzing supplier tenders and contracts, upon request.
- Quarterly preparation of taxable and distributable income calculations for each Trust.
- Overseeing the annual audit process for each Trust.
- Providing support to the external tax team in preparing annual tax statements.
- Lodging Annual Investor Income Reports (AIIR) in the ATO portal.
- Leading the onboarding and offboarding of entities, including providing tax support.
- Holds CPA/CA qualification.
- Possesses a minimum of three to five years of experience in a comparable role.
- Demonstrates a robust understanding of accounting principles, management accounting, consolidation, and corporate tax concepts.
- Exhibits exposure to financial accounting and proficiency in analyzing financial statements.
- Possesses intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to manage large spreadsheets and employ intermediate-level formulas.
- Strong analytical skills, complemented by superior time management abilities, enabling efficient work within deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and autonomous work environment.
