The Opportunity:
As part of the Financial Control team within La Trobe Financial, this role has primary responsibility for the daily, monthly and quarterly reporting needs of the Company and Fund(s). As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all internal management and statutory reporting, with a keen desire to improve and streamline processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management reporting: successfully owning the month-end process, including preparation and review of key internal reports and delivery of impactful Key Performance Indicators (KPI) presentations to senior personnel within the Finance team.
- Financial control and automation: conduct detailed reviews of daily, monthly, quarterly and forward-looking treasury and liquidity positions and key compliance-related reports, with a mindset of continuously improving and automating processes, whilst maintaining our industry-leading financial control process.
- Team mentoring: developing and mentoring our hard-working team of finance professionals.
- Articulate presentation skills: Preparation of regular and ongoing high-quality presentations, supporting analysis and strategic insights for management.
- Experience in statutory reporting: Completion of all statutory reporting requirements for the Fund(s) and Responsible Entity (RE), including the preparation of half-year and full-year financial reporting, and liaising with the auditors to resolve any queries.
- Completion of monthly BAS statements and annual tax returns, including investor tax reporting.
- Preparation and checking of all Fund Net Asset Value (NAV) and unit-pricing calculations.
- Preparation of AIIR, FATCA, CRS and other regulatory lodgments.
- Quarterly Board and Committee Reporting, including assisting in the preparation of accounting technical and position papers, which relate to the Fund(s) and Responsible Entity (RE).
- One of the key points of contact for the Fund(s) and assisting the business with ad-hoc and recurring requests.
About You:
- Accounting / Commerce degree
- Chartered Accountant/CPA qualified
- 5+ years experience (post-qualification) at manager level
- Fund accounting/trust/NAV/unit pricing experience preferred
- Strong computer literacy skills – high degree of competence in excel
- Knowledge of Technology One software is highly advantageous
