AddressOur client is a financial services company based in Melbourne CBD, who are looking for immediate support within their finance team due to an increased capacity with workload.
About the role
This position is a 2–3-month contract role with the opportunity for extension. The role is based in the Melbourne CBD area with a hybrid working model (3 days in office, 2 days from home). Sitting in the Fund Accounting Team and reporting into the SMSF Manager you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of quality management, statutory and regulatory reports. As well as tax returns and assisting in the daily reconciliation of the client’s fund account.
Key responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver management reports, statutory reports (annual financial statements), regulatory reports (APRA & ABS returns)
- Prepare and deliver tax returns (BAS, withholding tax, income tax)
- Reconciliation of the cash account including member contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, settlement of investments, income, fees, expenses
About You
- Previous experience of at least 2 years in a fund accounting, superannuation, or investment operations role or similar, within the financial services industry.
- Experience in self-managed super funds (SMSF) is a must.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting and studying or completed CPA/CA program.
- Proactive approach with the ability to interact successfully at all levels across the organisation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to resolve problems.
- Good time management skills to meet stakeholder deadlines.
