The Torch is a First Nations-led cultural arts organisation making waves in both the arts and justice worlds for over a decade. Working with First Nations people who are incarcerated around Victoria, The Torch focuses on the role of art, culture, and cultural identity in supporting participants to find new pathways beyond the criminal justice system.
This is a leadership role supporting the next phase of development and growth for The Torch. Within a team of 24 staff, the Fundraising & Development Manager works closely with the CEO to design, implement and drive new strategic fundraising opportunities and sponsorship initiatives. In addition, this role manages existing funding relationships with major trusts, government, and philanthropic bodies, as well as a growing major gifts community.
To be successful, we are seeking candidates who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Highly motivated to achieve community development outcomes for First Nations Australians.
- Demonstrated fundraising experience, including developing strategic and operational fundraising plans for effective engagement with government and the philanthropic community.
- Mature interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and proven success in building rapport and relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders (community, business leaders and government representatives etc).
