About the role

As the Class 2 Ganger, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development, Asset & Maintenance Group.

Reporting to the Track Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of 4 in the maintenance, repair, and renewal of the 65km per hour track between Murtoa - Hopeton.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Provide timely responses to emergencies associated with the replacement and renewal of track materials, i.e. sleepers, rail, ballasts, and fastenings.
  • Lead and supervise teams while participate in repair and maintenance work. Always demonstrating a high level of safety and teamwork.
  • Be available for on call emergencies and travel throughout the region on afternoon and night shift as required.

About you

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Hold a certificate 3 in Rail Infrastructure (Gangers Ticket)
  • Have excellent communication skills and basic computer capabilities.
  • The ability to lead and support a team.
  • Current Driver's Licence

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019 and will be paid as IMW (TRACK) 2.3 plus superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
