About the role
As the Mobile Ganger Class 2 you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development, Assets & Maintenance Group.
You will be responsible for supervising a team of 8 V/Line employees and any contractors associated with the Major Periodical Maintenance tasks for the freight and passenger network throughout Victoria.
Key Accountabilities include:
· Provide timely responses to emergencies associated with the replacement of renewal of track work materials, i.e. sleepers, rail, ballast, and fastenings.
· Lead and supervise teams while participating in repair and maintenance work, demonstrating high level of safety and teamwork.
· This position is 10 days on, 4 days off Roster, based across Victoria. There will be the requirement to work - day, afternoon, and night shifts.

· Demonstrated leadership qualities, capable of overseeing contractors and leading teams.
· Possession of a Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure, also known as a Gangers Ticket.
· A valid Safe Working Certificate, specifically for Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.2.
· A current and valid Victorian Driver's License.
· Flexibility and willingness to work on a rotating roster, including 10 consecutive days of work followed by 4 days off, encompassing day, afternoon, and night shifts.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019. Current employees are expected to remain in their role for a minimum of 12 months before applying to new positions within V/Line.
