About the role
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will have the responsibility of maintaining gardens and lawns at our factory sites. You will be a key member of the team, self-motivated and committed to achieving targets in relation to safety, quality and productivity.
As a minimum, you will:
- hold a manual driver licence.
- hold a licence for preparing and applying chemicals – AC/DC licence; and
- have extensive experience with lawn tractor operations.
It is also preferred but not essential that you will hold the relevant qualifications for chain saw operations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, watering, weeding, and fertilizing lawns and garden areas.
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain their health and appearance.
- Monitor and control pests, diseases, and weeds using appropriate methods and chemicals.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper disposal of garden waste and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing duties.
The successful candidate will also have the following attributes.
- Demonstrated experience working in a manual labour workplace
- Time management and ability to prioritise competing demands
- Maintain high work standards with minimal supervision
- Problem solve and show a high level of initiative
- Respect for their team, and a strong work ethic with a hands-on approach
