Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values and services have been informed through 40 years of experience, the needs of women in our community and research in leading practice.
Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when the voices of women are heard, our responses uphold dignity, builds on safety, and challenges the drivers of abuse. Victim/Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centred support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.
About this role
This pivotal role exists to provide support to women and children in the community who are experiencing family and domestic violence in the southeast corridor. The role will work with other service providers, WAPOL and partner agencies to provide a coordinated holistic response. You will use your comprehensive experience working with women who have experienced family or domestic violence, mental health, drug and alcohol or crisis in their lives, case management framework experience and networks to excel in the role.
This position is full-time on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Job share / part-time will be considered for suitable applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with internal programs to ensure advocacy and referrals in a safe and healing environment.
- Case management for women in the program.
- Partnering with women to develop holistic support plans using a strength-based therapy approach.
- Providing referrals, advocacy and support to ensure families reside in safe, affordable and long-term accommodation.
- Working alongside other service providers in an inter-agency case management approach.
- Overseeing and updating risk assessment and safety plans.
- Report writing and record keeping, contributing to funding reports.
Key Selection Criteria
- A qualification and/or degree in social science, social work, psychology, or community services.
- Comprehensive experience working with women who have experienced family and/or domestic violence, mental health, drug and alcohol and or crisis in their lives.
- Proven ability to provide holistic support using the Strengths-Based Therapy approach.
- Experience and/or knowledge of adhering to organisational contractual obligations including, outcomes-based model and client measurement tools.
- Specialist experience and knowledge of using Risk Assessment and Safety Plans.
- Experience in working within a Case Management framework and developing and reviewing support plans.
- Expert knowledge of referral pathways and community services.
- A comprehensive understanding of the appropriate relationship boundaries with clients and other service providers and the ability to work within the constraints of the job role.
- Ability to adapt with ease, working as a member of a team, leading a team as well as independently on program outcomes. Excising judgement and initiative.
- Solving problems of moderate difficulty using knowledge, judgment and organisational skills. Providing expert advice to other team members
The successful candidate will need to possess:
- National Police Clearance Certificate
- Working with Children Card
- WA driver's license with good driving records
