This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2024
As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. The successful applicant will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. You should possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals. Experience in servicing gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant should possess good communication and organisation skills as well as attention to detail and be able to work unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
Churchlands Primary School was established in 1965 and continues to grow as an exemplary Independent Public School with students enrolled in Kindergarten to Year 6, representing 47 nationalities. Our classrooms are air conditioned and networked with multimedia facilities and common multi-purpose areas. Our school grounds are well developed and include; multi-purpose hard courts, an oval and specialised playgrounds to provide an interactive environment.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
- Experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.
