The Role: Junior Garment Technician
Note this role is a max-term Maternity Leave contract - 10 month assignment.
The Junior Garment Technician is responsible for finalising specs and tech packs for all styles as well as quality assurance across the business from online through to stores. This position is the last point of contact for all specification communication to makers.

- Requesting Proto, Re-sub, PP and shipment samples from relevant factories and ensuring they are accurate in both construction and sizing.
- Thorough understanding of the suppliers lead times to ensure style approval is done on time to achieve desired delivery dates.
- Ensuring the Excel spec is updated accurately with the bill of material, trims, development measures, grading and all specific details required for each style.
- Effectively communicating all garment trim/fabric and colour approvals, ensuring the factory understand and can achieve our final product.
- Approving Protos and PP in a timely manner, ensuring they are functional and accurate in construction, sizing and colour.
- Being solutions focused and solving any problems that may arise and ensure it is fixed before production of bulk commences.
- Ensuring all care labels are specific and correctly suited to each style and position is allocated on garment.
- Sending sample and finalised specs to manufacturers.
- Tracking development of each style in style tracker to ensure we stay on time with Critical Path.
- Working closely with suppliers in the development of Proto and PP samples and proactively recognising any issues for production.
- Following up with relevant people if a standard or finish hasn’t been followed and actioning to avoid this issue arising again.
On your first day, we expect you already have:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or related field ideal, but not required.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the fashion industry, preferably in garment technology or production.
- Familiarity with garment construction techniques, pattern making, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for updating and maintaining garment specifications and tech packs.
- Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, including pattern making, grading, and fitting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with factory partners and team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, including designers, product developers, and suppliers.
