Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Gas Marketing Analyst, who will be responsible for providing analytical, regulatory and commercial support to MEPAU’s Eastern and Western Australia Gas Marketing team. The role will initially be a two-year fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Senior Gas Marketing Manager, you will:
Establish and maintain gas supply/demand forecast models and conduct supply/demand scenario analysis.
Keep up to date with gas market developments in both EA and WA, including competitors and customers and undertake analysis as required.
Produce internal gas price forecasts.
Undertake economic evaluation of LNG vs Domgas optimisation opportunities.
Provide analysis to support gas commercialisation studies and investment opportunities.
Ensure information requests from the ACCC, AEMO, JTSI and other government and regulatory agencies are responded to within the stipulated timeframe.
Support the Gas Marketing Managers and JV partners to maximise economic and commercial outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you’ll require the following skills and experience:
Minimum 4 years’ experience as an analyst in the oil and gas sector.
A sound knowledge of the WA domestic gas market, with the ability to interpret information and develop insights.
The ability to understand and interpret legislation and agreements.
The ability to work diligently and independently, with a focus on delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The following skills and experience would be highly regarded:
Experience in dealing with joint venture partners.
An understanding of and experience working with gas sales agreements and other commercial agreements, such as balancing agreements.
Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies such as AEMO and the ACCC on gas regulatory matters and responding to their information requests.
Exposure to the east coast gas market.
