About the role
A General Assistant - Toolstore person is responsible for providing high level customer service to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of frontline class support.
We have vacancies at Bryon, Junction Hill, Ballina, Belmont, Casino, Cessnock, Coffs Harbour, Glendale, Gosford, Grafton, Great Lakes - Tuncurry, Hamilton, Kempsey, Kingscliff, Kurri Kurri, Lismore, Macksville, Maclean, Maitland, Murwillumbah, Muswellbrook, Nambucca Heads, Tighes Hill - Newcastle and Newcastle West - Hunter.
Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to supporting students by contributing to a positive learning experience, general administration work, purchasing and organising tools, equipment and materials for students and staff.
This position will carry out manual handling activities and may be required to work to a roster.
We are seeking to build our casual talent pool for this region.
About You
You are a self-starter who is willing to be hands-on to support learning outcomes and delivery in the classroom.
You are excited to share your industry knowledge and experience with others and available for casual work.
Have demonstrated experience working within a trade environment, using a range of hand and power tools and able to conduct minor repairs and maintenance.
Are you looking for casual work while you study or looking for a second job, we will work around your current availability.
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
Demonstrated experience in use of hand and power tools, and tool maintenance in a trade environment.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.
Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
Highly Desirable:
Forklift license
Experience in specific trades including Automotive, Air-Conditioning, Bricklaying, Fitting & Machining, Metal Fabrication and Welding, Electrical, Plumbing, Furniture and/or Construction.
