Our Gen Re Australia Facultative Team is seeking a Facultative Underwriting Assistant in our Sydney office. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum number of days in the office. Prior experience in reinsurance, insurance or the property sector is preferred. You will report to theField Operations Manager and work closely with the wider Property and CasualtyFacultative Teams.
Your Role
As a Facultative Underwriting Assistant, you willbe responsible for providing pre-underwriting and post-underwriting technicaladministrative support to our team of Property and Casualty FacultativeUnderwriters across Australia and New Zealand.
Facultative is a dynamic and time sensitive unit that is data driven and fastpaced. The role requires flexibility, clear communication and resilience.
Role Description
- Pre-underwriting of Individual Risk and Bundled Business including interpreting, analysing and inputting information supplied by our team of Underwriters and clients into our underwriting rating tools, pre-filling underwriting notes, quotations and electronic files according to our various workflow procedures and underwriting guidelines.
- Post-Underwriting of Individual Risk and Bundled Business which includes processing accurate Reinsurance Certificates and Endorsements and monitoring and actioning system generated reminders for outstanding tasks.
- Update and maintain client contact information and client event information using MS Dynamic
- Participate in various client event tasks ad hoc.
- Maintain Property and Casualty Line of business knowledge for ISR, General Liability, Professional Indemnity and Motor Classes of Business.
- Maintain knowledge of Insurance Terms.
Role Qualification and Experience
- 5+ years industry or property sector experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a sense of urgency.
- The ability to handle many tasks and applications at once.
- Ability to analyse, manipulate and organize data in excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment. Be easy to approach and able to convey information, ideas and viewpoints in a respectful tone and manner.
- Self- motivated and a willingness to learn.
