THE OPPORTUNITY:
As the General Manager – Boutique Hotel & Hospitality, you will hold senior leadership team responsibility for the overall operations and sales across the hotel and hospitality businesses sector. You will play a critical role in driving and mentoring the line managers in the hotel, restaurant, and functions business departments, to achieve consistent business performance and growth across their core areas of responsibility.
You will be instrumental in designing and implementing processes and standard operating procedures that promote our company culture and vision while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainable financial returns. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer on all departmental operations and strategic challenges, offering recommendations based on your financial analysis and projections, cost identification, and revenue/expense analysis.
Your key objective as the General Manager – Hotel & Hospitality will be to maximize the utilization of the group’s hotel and hospitality assets, its brands, and key infrastructure to facilitate short-term growth and long-term sustainable talent, revenue, and profit.
About the Role:
- Compliance with Liquor Licensing Laws: Ensuring the hotel adheres to all regulations related to the sale and service of alcohol, including maintaining the necessary licenses and training staff on responsible service of alcohol (RSA).
- Safety and Security: Overseeing the safety and security of the premises, including managing security personnel, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, and implementing measures to prevent incidents.
- Financial Management: Managing the financial operations of the hotel, including budgeting, financial reporting, rostering, and ensuring profitability. This also involves overseeing pricing strategies and managing expenses.
- Staff Management and Training: Recruiting, training, and supervising staff to ensure high standards of customer service and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes conducting regular training sessions and performance evaluations.
- Customer Service and Satisfaction: Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining excellent service standards, addressing customer complaints and feedback, and continuously improving the guest experience.
- Regulatory and Environmental Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and environmental laws. This includes maintaining cleanliness, proper waste management, and implementing sustainable practices within the hotel.
- Marketing and Promotions: Working closely with the marketing, culinary, and ops team to develop and implement marketing strategies and working with the events team on promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales.
- Building Partnerships and Networks: Establishing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, event organizers, and tourism operators to create opportunities for cross-promotions and partnerships.
- You have over 10 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of operations and management.
- You are a polished and seasoned professional with a proven track record of success, known for your expertise in business acumen, including reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
