Currently operating with Gold Coast and Brisbane locations, and with 4 new locations opening within the next 12 months and plans for 30 locations over the next 5 years, Soak Bathhouse is looking to expand our team and locations with the support of a General Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager with a positive mindset to lead our team and drive our business forward nationally.

Attractive remuneration package of approximately $400,000 includes: 

  • $180,000 - $220,000 base salary (plus superannuation) subject to candidate experience
  • Bonus / Incentive structure of up to $150,000 OTE per year with the ability to increase
  • Share incentive scheme available subject to candidate experience 
  • Phone allowance and laptop provided

Job Summary:

The General Manager will report to the company directors and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our business operations, including strategic planning, financial management, team leadership, and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing and growing businesses, strong financial acumen, and a strategic mindset. Flexible working / work from home with locations attendances and interstate travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Provide strong, visionary leadership to the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and maintain a culture in line with Soak Bathhouse’s mission, purpose and values and continue to inspire and lead our team by example.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the executive team and employees, ensuring clear communication and alignment with company goals.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to drive growth and profitability across a national, multi-site business.
  • Create and manage short-term and long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with company vision and objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to remain competitive and responsive to market changes.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the financial health of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with financial regulations.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Streamline business processes and implement systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations with the support of the National Operations Manager, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across all departments.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure the company’s operations comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of water quality and maintenance and over its management and compliance.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all operations and activities comply with legal regulations, company policies and OHS requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, including regular audits and assessments.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Leverage business intelligence tools to gather, analyse, and interpret sales, marketing and operational data to drive strategic decisions, identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement KPIs to measure success and drive performance.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on business performance, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Optimise IT systems and operational processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.  
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast business trends and plan accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a senior management role with P&L responsibility, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a successful team.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management and business operations and P&L management in prior roles.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement effective business strategies across a national, multi-site business.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attitude: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with a positive outlook and alignment with our values. You must be passionate about helping people, serving others, and bringing positivity into the world.

Office locations & requirements

  • Gold Coast, Brisbane or Sydney based. 
  • Primarily work flexibly / work from home (subject to business needs) with face to face attendances at site locations from time to time as required. 
  • Regular interstate travel will be required.
