As General Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the company's continued success.
Main Duties
Your responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Oversee all aspects of operations within the company, including Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Research & Development and Service Team.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, expand market presence, and enhance profitability in alignment with company objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external partners, to define and execute strategic priorities and initiatives.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning, encouraging professional development and skill enhancement among team members.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and legal requirements governing the manufacturing industry, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
The successful candidate will bring to the role:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar/related field.
- Ideally coming from Engineering background, technical leadership is required.
- Proven years' experience in a leadership role within the Automotive Manufacturing industry or a similar/related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes, quality assurance standards, and supply chain management.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams of engineers and other professionals.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret technical data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and compliance requirements governing engineering and manufacturing industries.
- Report directly to the COO, lead a team of about 37 people in Brisbane and Auckland, and manage $33 million turn over per annum.
- Willingness to travel as needed – AU, NZ & US.
- Attractive salary package of $200k - $250k + super + $20k car allowance on top + bonus (SLT incentive scheme), negotiable dependent on skills & experience
