The GM PNG will work strategically with the CEO and Executive team to ensure the growth objectives of the Group are realised.
The most important focus of the position, and the area where the majority of time will be spent, is on continuing to develop the Harness Training and People business with blue chip and SME companies.
There will also be a focus on nationalisation of trainers to ensure the PNG division is providing the best possible opportunities to locals first. This is likely going to involve the setup of an upskilling program to identify, source, & train PNG Nationals to an accredited standard for delivery of Australian Units of Competency.
The GM PNG will need to be autonomous, motivated and be able to access new clients on a ready basis. The GM PNG will be expected to penetrate new business to be handed over so personnel may be sourced and deployed.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The GM PNG will work closely with all General Managers, the Executive team and the Business Marketing team to ensure the focus is clear, the strategy is concise, and that business is developing in a sustainable & ethical manner. The GM PNG will actively work to bring in strategically important “New” business but will also look to develop existing business.
Skills and Experience To be considered for the role, you will have: 10-year leadership experience with P&L accountability; Proven track record of securing PSL status with clients; Proven track record in developing greenfield and brownfield business; Proven ability to approach and engage productively with Operators and Top Tier service provider companies; Understanding the Learning & Development needs of PNG; Strong and proven budget/financial acumen; Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce, Business or relevant discipline; Exposure to Labour Law and employment equity regulations; Grant and Funding proposal preparation and scoping; Highly Developed Data Analysis and Interpretation skills; Strong Organisational Administration skills; Strong Business Improvement skills; Developed ability of raising the profile of an organisation, strategically networking with Oil and Gas operators, drilling contractors and relevant government departments; Experience in working for an RTO will be highly regarded, however experience in sales driven organisations will also be desirable. Job Location Flexibility The successful candidate can be based in Papua New Guinea or Australia. However, if based in Australia, our expectation is that at least 25%- 50% of their time will be spent in Papua New Guinea.
