Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) is a local not-for-profit health organisation, established by the Australian Government to improve access to primary care services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and improve coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place at the right time. With a workforce of 70 staff and over 1,800 members across the primary care ecosystem, SNHN are one of 31 PHNs nationally.
The Opportunity
Due to the direction of our new strategic plan, a newly created role has become available for a General Manager, Business Development and Marketing Communications to join the Executive team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and overseeing a small team, the General Manager, Business Development and Marketing Communications will play a catalyst role in SNHN’s transformative journey, leading strategic Business Development and marketing activities to attract financial investment that will support the organisation’s strategic plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and executing Business Development strategies to enhance funding sources and support for key programs and initiatives.
- Identifying and developing strategic partnerships with providers, government agencies, philanthropic donors/investors, and private sector organisations.
- Partnering with the broader SNHN team to drive innovation and contribute to the design and implementation of consumer-focused solutions.
- Leading the design and implementation of an overarching Marketing Communications plan.
- Managing SNHN’s membership program across acquisition, retention, growth strategy and engagement.
- Presenting to the Business Development Committee and SNHN Board in both verbal and written form.
- Representing SNHN in external meetings, conferences, and events to enhance reputation, build strategic relationships, and promote the organisation’s mission and values.
About You
This role presents a rare opportunity to exercise your commercial nous and creativity to deliver on organisational objectives. For this appointment we are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in Business Development, marketing and communications paired with a strong passion for enhancing community outcomes.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, communications or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience attracting high-impact funding and investment.
- Proven experience developing and implementing marketing/communications strategies.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret market trends.
- Strong passion and understanding of the health sector and issues impacting community.
- C class drivers’ license and National Police Clearance Check. Double COVID-19 vaccination highly recommended.
- The ability to travel across the region as required.
