About Narooma Rocks
Narooma Rocks is a not-for-profit company that seeks to be a catalyst to grow the South Coast visitor economy with Narooma being recognised as Australia’s premium rock oyster destination, celebrating its pristine environment, world class produce and intimate visitor experiences.
About the role
The Narooma Oyster Festival, our flagship annual event, is the largest food and drink event in Southern NSW, attracting on average 10,000 patrons and injecting millions of dollars into the regional economy year on year. As our General Manager, you will be instrumental in orchestrating this event, contracting experienced events managers to take responsibility for logistics and operations and mobilising over 100 volunteers to deliver this iconic festival.
Beyond the festival, you'll lead strategic ventures and initiatives including the establishment of a year-round tourism and hospitality facility, the deployment of our vintage 'Oyster Bar' Van at complementary regional events, and pop-up destination dining and oyster master class experiences. These activities are in various stages of development.
About you
We are seeking an entrepreneurial General Manager with a track record in driving strategic growth and excellence in operational leadership to support our organisational growth. As a versatile and dynamic leader, you'll champion our mission through innovative thinking and broad management expertise. Your strong foundation in project management and astute grasp of marketing principles will be pivotal to our success.
We value authenticity and resilience; we're looking for someone who thrives as a multitasker and a proactive self-starter. Your talent for building relationships and your understanding of working within small communities will be key to our collaborative environment. At Narooma Rocks, adaptability is essential as we navigate the exciting and unpredictable waters of not-for-profit operations.
