About Our Client
With the head-office based in Perth’s eastern suburbs, our client is a well-established and renowned civil & transport business entrenched in the WA infrastructure sector. As a result of strategic diversifications, there is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, career-minded General Manager to take up a long-term opportunity and manage a stable business and supportive team in the plant hire and civil construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Form part of the leadership team, which consists of leaders responsible for driving the overall strategic direction of the business.
- Oversee and collaborate with operations manager and site teams.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business. This includes project management, Profit & Loss reporting, planning, risk assessment, cost control and overall strategy.
- Manage a competent project delivery team, nurturing a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Inspire and motivate the team, maximise performance and foster professional growth.
- Build a collaborative and supportive environment, create a high-performing team that consistently delivers exceptional results.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with clients.
- Emphasising low- conflict environments and relationship-focused practices, foster trust, open communication, and shared objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners, to optimise collaboration, resource utilisation, and project outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary Qualified (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related)
- Previous experience in a GM position, ideally within the construction, plant hire industry
- Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of hourly hire contracts
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactive, proactive, hands-on and versatile.
- Able to operate autonomously and in a fast-paced, client solutions-focused environment
