General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)

Our client is steeped in tradition, a well-established privately owned civil contracting business servicing mining, earthmoving, construction and commercial services sectors in Western Australia.

The company has specific expertise in remote mine site earthworks and services, access road building and maintenance and mine rehabilitation works. 

The Position (preference to be based in Bunbury/Collie region of WA, however could potentially be based in Perth)

• Reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the business. 
• Will be involved in the development of the overall strategic direction and then implementing the Strategic Plan as you work closely with the senior leadership team, both locally and on-site, providing leadership and direction across the site-based operations in Western Australia.
• You will also be responsible for overseeing and managing key client projects. 
• Primary focus will be the co-ordination and completion of projects on time, within scope and budget, overseeing the execution, setting of deadlines, assigning responsibilities and monitoring project progress performance to the highest safety and quality standards.
• Integral to your success will be your ability to balance the management and delivery of the projects whilst providing effective leadership and development of the operational team.

The Person

• Will suit a proven General Manager or a senior Operations Manger or a senior Project Manager with a high level of experience in developmental leadership roles.
• Experience in the mining and bulk earthmoving industry is preferred or otherwise experience in the industrial or commercial sectors where there is a focus on service delivery would also be suitable.
• A proven track record in the effective management of a broad range of commercial projects, where success has been delivered through the effective management of schedule, scope, labour utilisation and budgetary planning
• Demonstrate strong business disciplines, an astute commercial business acumen and the natural ability to lead and motivate personnel who work in a diverse range of job functions
• Demonstrable success in strategic planning with the ability to implement the tactical plan
• Tertiary qualifications would be advantageous
