A unique opportunity has become available for aGeneral Manager of Retail and eCommerce to join our ASICS Oceania executive leadership team. This newly created position will play a pivotal role in the growth of ASICS Oceania by driving success in all aspects of direct to customer (DTC) activity, from sales and operations to the planning and execution of business development initiatives across retail and eCommerce channels.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading these essential functions to achieve retail sales growth through ensuring effective processes and people management while facilitating new retail store openings and expanding our online presence into new marketplaces and the like.
What goes in to making that happen:
- Leading retail operations to ensure profitable sales channels through a balance of commercial, strategic, people and customer centric focused initiatives
- Support the expansion of our store network by opening new stores with all operational and people objectives delivered to a high standard, on time and on budget, whilst coordinating and liaising with key stakeholders for store openings and refits
- Monitor retail and eCommerce market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviours to influence sales plans that meet revenue and margin growth targets
- Ensuring eCommerce sales strategies drive revenue growth and increase customer acquisition and retention
- Develop the eCommerce channel growth plans, budget, sales forecast, and expenses to ensure profitability
- Oversee the development and implementation of marketing campaigns that drive traffic to the eCommerce site and increase conversions, assuring alignment in overarching marketing strategies
- Performing analysis, reporting, and forecasting to draw insights and determine retail and eCommerce performance
- Support the buying process and range management for retail and eCommerce seasonal product ranges
- Manage, coach, and engage a high performing team to achieve key growth plans with a focus on continuous improvement and professional development through providing strong leadership and directional support

That’s enough about us! Here’s what we’d like to see from you:
- Extensive senior management experience, specifically in developing innovative business strategies, achieving sales targets, profitability, market share and business plan objectives within an equivalent Retail and/or ecommerce business
- Proven experience in successfully leading large national teams through fostering a feedback centric, high performance team culture
- Strong commitment to innovation and ongoing development; using appropriate methods to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and measure impact
- Proven ability to present strategy and results to team members at every level of the organisation
- Track record in successfully maintaining and establishing relationships to leverage key business projects and operations i.e., lease negotiation and new site acquisition
- Consumer-centricity, with the ability to develop strong mutually trusting relationships with key stakeholders, your own team, and suppliers
- High level of business acumen with demonstrated ability to conceptualise the issues and opportunities present in a dynamic organisation
- Ability to commit to domestic and international travel when needed
- Familiarity using processes and systems (Microsoft Office, BI tools, and SAP desirable)
