The role

Reporting to Managing Director and leading a small team, this role is instrumental in providing positive leadership across the business and initiating, developing and maintaining a safe environment for our people and customers. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will carry Network Authority (Rail Safety) and focus on the health, safety, sustainability and rail accreditation process for Sydney Light Rail. Working closely with our operational teams across 4 sites (Randwick, Lilyfield & Pyrmont x2) you will provide assistance and advice, facilitate safety audits / incident reviews, champion continuous improvement and close out any corrective actions.

What you bring

In addition to tertiary qualifications (health, safety or related discipline) your background will take in extensive workplace health and safety management experience in large, complex, and regulated operational organisations (transport / infrastructure industry preferred). This will be supported by your rail safety accreditation knowledge and understanding of complex contractual arrangements with the operational phase of a Public Private Partnership. Given the nature of the role you will have the ability to influence change and foster a safety focused culture combined with the capability to exercise sound judgement in advising both staff and senior leaders.
