Uniting WA is a prominent organisation in the community services sector in Western Australia. Uniting plays a critical role in providing essential services and advocating for children, families, individuals with disabilities, individuals facing mental health difficulties, and people experiencing homelessness. With an annual revenue of nearly $60 million, Uniting WA employs over 440 individuals and possesses a diverse range of assets.
About the role
The General Manager of Services and Social Impact collaborates closely with the Co-CEOs, as well as other members of the Executive and Senior Management teams, to ensure that services are of high quality and effectively aligned with the organisation's operational and strategic goals.
This pivotal position holds significant leadership responsibilities within Uniting WA and is tasked with upholding the highest standards of service delivery, quality, and SOCIAL IMPACT across all programs and initiatives. The role is instrumental in driving continuous improvement, promoting collaboration, and advancing Uniting’s mission to instigate positive change within our community spheres.
Key role deliverables include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for service quality and SOCIAL IMPACT.
- Support Senior Managers with the management of the tendering/ retendering of services and identify opportunities for new revenue streams.
- Oversee rigorous organisational service quality assurance processes.
- Implement performance metrics, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks.
- Lead efforts to measure and communicate the significance of the organisation’s SOCIAL IMPACT.
- Develop outcome measurement tools and collect relevant SOCIAL IMPACT data.
- Provide support to Senior Managers, recognised as subject matter experts within the organisation, to foster cross-functional teamwork.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Senior Managers and team members.
- Work closely with the finance team and Senior Managers to ensure service sustainability.
- Represent Uniting in sector, government and public forums.
- Advocate for policies that positively impact the community.
About you
Your outstanding ability to communicate and solve problems, along with your expertise, will play a vital role in successfully overseeing a wide range of stakeholders.
You will already have built a track record in a leadership role within the community services or aligned sector.
Importantly, you should possess personal drive and ambition, along with strategic thinking abilities and exceptional interpersonal skills. Demonstrated success in program management, quality assurance, and passion for SOCIAL IMPACT measurement, coupled with strong leadership acumen, is essential.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field such as Social Work, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Quality and /or Health Services Management, with specialist knowledge and experience relevant to the position.
